The Eastbay 40 Flybridge is an outstanding dual helm cruising boat and represents an exceptional value in todays market. Calypso has had only two owners; the current owner has enjoyed her since 2002. The Eastbay 40 Flybridge (in 1998 the cockpit was lengthened and became the 43FB) has a modified deep-V which provides peppy cruising speeds with exceptional comfort and sea keeping. Beyond the quality craftsmanship and timeless design youll find a smartly efficient use of space on board. Large windows surround the main cabin to bring in light and air while the inside glows with rich teak panels and joinery teak and holly sole plus top-quality hardware and furnishings. The Eastbay 40 Flybridge has timeless down east styling and delivers an impressive blend of luxury craftsmanship and performance.
Vessel Walkthrough
The Eastbay 40 Flybridge is easily boarded from port or starboard via teak boarding steps or from the teak swim platform via the transom door. In the cockpit below deck lazarette storage has three access hatches. Wide side decks make moving about the boat for line handling and anchoring convenient and safe. There is a stainless steel ladder with teak treads for flybridge access; the salon is accessed via a sliding teak door.The spacious salon offers comfortable seating to port plus a starboard side L-shaped settee (convertible to a berth) with teak dining table. There is an ice chest under the portside settee. Forward on the starboard side is the helm station with a double wide helm seat and a pilot house door to the side deck. Additional ventilation in the salon comes from opening the center windshield panel and sliding side windows. Forward of the salon to port is the well appointed galley (i.e. galley up layout).There are three teak steps (with storage in each) down to the companionway with the guest cabin to port the head to starboard and master cabin forward. The floors are teak and holly. The forward stateroom has a large V-berth with a filler cushion that makes into a generous bed. There is lots of storage and even a hidden safe. The guest cabin has upper and lower bunks. The head has a large separate shower stall.The flybridge layout has an adjustable helm seat and there is cushioned L-shaped guest seating aft and to port with storage under. The bimini top and venturi windshield provide cover from the elements while underway.The current owner has enjoyed Calypso since 2002. Items in the detailed specs noted as NEW were replaced or upgraded by the current owner.
Salon
The salon has great natural light and space for lounging entertaining and dining. The master stateroom forward has a large convertible V-berth with cabinets over each. It has abundant storage including hanging lockers bureau with drawers drawers under the berth and a hidden safe.
